Juan Antonio Olivares (b. 1988 Bayamón, Puerto Rico) lives and works in New York, USA. In his wide multi-media practice, he explores the natural world, in its entirety, as an unlimited state of wonder that is deeply personal, affecting and highly charged. His harnessing of imagery and objects ranging from the microscopic to the cosmic touches upon themes of otherness, connectivity and a universal desire to place oneself in time and space. His recent solo shows have been held by The Clark Art Institute, Wil-liamstown; Kunsthalle Zurich; Fitzpatrick, Paris; Bernheim, Zurich and ChertLüdde, Berlin. Olivares pur-sued his studies at Columbia University in Visual Arts & Philosophy (2011) and at Kunstakademie Düs-seldorf (2016).
