Min Jia (b. 2001 Ürümqi, China) is currently based in Berlin, Germany. Their work approaches narratives of adaptation through a queer, diasporic, and disabled lens. Visually borrowing from hentai, BL/GL manga, as well as Chinese folk arts and crafts, their paintings depict the necessity to fill and be filled - eating, dwelling, burying, fucking - how our bodies transform into interchanging vessels that carry one another and the environment at large. Min Jia has recently exhibited work at A.I. Gallery, London; X Mu-seum, Beijing; UdK Rundgang, Berlin and MKG127, Toronto. Having briefly pursued a BFA in Interdis-ciplinary Sculpture at Maryland Institute College of Art (2021), they are currently completing their studies at Berlin University of the Arts.
