In Fatebe on the Burnt Side (2024), we see something like an inversion of Fatebe Blue Gallop. Where in the prior image it is Fatebe who is subverted, it seems somehow in this image that she is the agent of the destruction evident in this scene. Half of the gallery space is charred as if in the aftermath of a fire, with destroyed paintings visible on the wall; in the center, a balloon-form Fatebe erupts from another Greek rhyton, improbably balanced on its bottom, and this Fatebe’s cartoonishly sinister expression suggests culpability, or perhaps vengeance on whoever has damaged the gallery. Next to her balloon version, another Fatebe cowers, bent backwards as if recovering from a gymnast’s arch, proferring herself but allowing her counterpart to steal the show.
