9 ZURICH ART SHOWS WORTH PLANNING A TRIP AROUND THIS SUMMER

WHITEWALL
VICTORIA POKOVBA, June 24, 2026
At the heart of Banks Violette‘s solo exhibition is Untitled (The End) (2026), a site-specific installation created for the Zurich exhibition. Upon entering the gallery, visitors encounter a glowing light work spelling out the words “The End” in reverse. Beneath it, a mirrored sphere sits among salt, chains, and an open flame, creating a palpable tension between reflection, destruction, and ritual. Together, the elements form a stage-like environment suspended between beginning and ending, reality and fiction. Rather than approaching American culture through nostalgia, Violette examines it through critique, ambiguity, and a desire for deeper understanding.
What we love: Seeing Violette’s practice unfold across sculpture, drawing, installation, and light, revealing the breadth of his visual language.
